Some experimental treatments for mesothelioma, the cancer caused by asbestos exposure, are showing encouraging results, but standard treatments including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery are still the norm.

With the support of PODS and donated PODS containers, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital will collect new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations during a special "Christmas in July" toy and donation drive on July 23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The donated items, which will be used to entertain and comfort pediatric patients throughout the year, can be dropped off in the circular drive in front of St. Joseph´s Children´s Hospital at 3001 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Tampa.
